The Natural State Lawn Program

The Natural State Lawn Program utilizes 10 strategic treatments annually to enhance lawn vitality and control weeds. Our approach focuses on two fundamental pillars of fertility.

  1. We prioritize long-term soil health by incorporating organics and six forms of micronutrients into almost every treatment.

  2. We utilize three distinct forms of highly advanced fertilizer to ensure both immediate and sustained turf vigor.

  3. We minimize chemical inputs by utilizing a “Spot-Spray Only” approach to post-emergent weed control, reducing herbicide use by 10X or more!

While each treatment offers standalone benefits, the synergy of the program is where the true "Magic" lies.

Further distinguishing our unique approach is our commitment to reducing chemical herbicides by up to 90%. Our meticulous "spot spray only" weed management methods, though more time-consuming and training-intensive, deliver the safest and most effective alternative to industry norms.

  • While the post-emergent products are NOT organic, our precise application method reduces herbicide use by over 90% without sacrificing control. Plus, we select only the most advanced, carefully tested herbicides to ensure maximum effectiveness with minimal impact.

  • Advanced Pre-Emergent Weed Control

Just as important as what we are spraying is what we are NOT spraying. Unlike our competitors, we DO NOT mix post-emergent herbicides like Dicamba or 2-4D with our pre-emergent treatments.

This application creates a protective barrier in the soil that prevents weeds from ever breaking the surface. Instead of chasing weeds all season long, we’re cutting them off at the source.

    This targets:

    • Crabgrass

    • Goosegrass

    • Spurge

    • Other aggressive spring and summer annual weeds

  • Advanced Slow-Release Fertility (Microbially Driven, not water soluble)

Round 2 is centered around a long-duration nitrogen application designed to feed your lawn steadily over time, not all at once.

    This isn’t your typical fertilizer.

Instead of relying on coated urea that releases in response to water, this product is microbially driven, meaning it releases nutrients in response to soil biology and temperature.

    That means:

    • More consistent growth

    • Less surge growth and fewer clippings

    • Reduced risk of burn

    • Nutrients available when the plant actually needs them

  • Round 3 introduces a major upgrade to our program. We are now utilizing a premium granular fertilizer specifically designed to strengthen turf and improve resilience heading into summer.

This isn’t a typical “green-up” fertilizer. It’s a performance-driven application focused on building strength below the surface.

    Key components include:

    • High Potassium → Improves drought tolerance, stress resistance, and overall plant strength

    • Slow-Release Nitrogen → Provides steady, controlled growth without surge or burn

    • Iron → Enhances deep green color without excessive growth

  • Round 4 utilizes one of the most advanced nitrogen sources available in turf management.

This is not a quick-release fertilizer. It’s a precision-controlled nitrogen source designed to deliver consistent feeding over time, without the spikes and crashes associated with traditional products.

This application is designed to push growth, density, and color at exactly the right time in the season.

    You’ll notice:

    • A richer, deeper green color

    • Increased density and thickness

    • More uniform growth across the lawn

This is often the point where clients start getting comments like, “What are you doing to your lawn? It looks amazing!”

  • (Liquid Organic Bio-Stimulant + Micronutrients + Moisture Management)

Instead of heavy nitrogen, this application focuses on plant health, nutrient efficiency, and stress tolerance.

Organic Bio-Stimulant: build resilience from the soil up

    • Stimulate soil biology

    • Improve nutrient retention

    • Enhance root development

    • Increase natural stress tolerance

Micronutrient Package: Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Copper, Magnesium, Sulfur

    • Chlorophyll production (color)

    • Enzyme activity

    • Overall plant metabolism

    Moisture Manager:

    • Break surface tension

    • Improve water infiltration

    • Increase moisture uniformity

    • Reduce dry spots

  • (Liquid Organic Bio-Stimulant + Micronutrients + Moisture Management)

Instead of heavy nitrogen, this application focuses on plant health, nutrient efficiency, and stress tolerance.

    Moisture Manager:

    • Break surface tension

    • Improve water infiltration

    • Increase moisture uniformity

    • Reduce dry spots

  • Round 7 brings nitrogen back into focus, but in a very intentional way. We’re utilizing a premium fertilizer that combines:

    • dual-coated urea → Controlled, steady nitrogen release & Improves nutrient efficiency and soil interaction

    • Added Potassium (6%) → Continues supporting stress recovery and plant strength

This is not a quick push.

It’s a measured reintroduction of nitrogen designed to:

    • Rebuild the density lost during the summer

    • Restore color and vigor

    • Support recovery without overstimulation

  • Round 8 mirrors the strategy of Round 1, but instead of preventing summer weeds, this application is designed to stop fall and winter weeds before they ever emerge.

We are utilizing the most advanced pre-emergent herbicides available, paired with a liquid Moisture Manager for optimal performance.

This application creates a protective barrier in the soil that prevents weeds from germinating.

    This prevents common weeds like:

    • Poa Annua (annual bluegrass)

    • Henbit

    • Chickweed

    • Other cool-season winter annuals

These weeds are especially problematic in thin or drought-stressed lawns, as they take advantage of weakened turf and open spaces.

  • Round 9 is our final liquid organic application of the year. Instead of pushing growth this late in the season, we shift focus back below the surface.

Round 9 delivers a powerful combination of:

    • Kelp

    • Fish-based nutrients

    • Humic substances

    • Carbon-rich organic inputs

    These ingredients work together to:

    • Stimulate microbial activity in the soil

    • Improve nutrient availability and retention

    • Enhance root health heading into dormancy

    • Maximize the uptake of any remaining nutrients in the soil

This is about making sure your lawn goes into winter as healthy and prepared as possible.

  • Lab-Based Soil Corrections (Fully Customized Per Lawn). Round 10 is not a one-size-fits-all application.

Every treatment is based on lab soil testing data collected from your specific lawn.

    Acidic Soil = LIME

This was by far the most common issue we found. When soil is too acidic, nutrients become “locked up” and unavailable to the plant.

    Alkaline Soil = Sulfur

While far less common, alkaline soil has the same "locked up" effect on nutrients as acidic soil.

     Perfect pH (6.3 - 6.7) = Superfood

This will increase organic matter content, improve soil structure, and feed beneficial microbial life.
