Core Aeration
Aeration is a cornerstone of exceptional turf management, enhancing nearly every aspect of your lawn when done correctly. Our state-of-the-art reciprocating aeration machines deliver 2x the hole density (or more) compared to traditional drum aerators, creating precise cores for maximum effectiveness and minimal stress to the existing grass.
What sets us apart is not just the equipment but our expertise. Our highly trained horticultural specialists perform every aeration service, ensuring precision and care every step of the way. Aerations are never outsourced or subcontracted.
While aeration is vital for a healthy lawn, timing is crucial. To avoid stress on your turf, we only offer this service once per year during the ideal window between May and June.

Flag Your Irrigation Heads: Before aeration, you'll receive a confirmation call. Once notified, run your irrigation system and flag any heads, drains, or valve covers at risk of damage. Flagged items are covered under our replacement guarantee.
Prepare the Soil: Proper soil dampness ensures effective aeration. If there hasn’t been sufficient rainfall, run a heavy irrigation cycle the day before our visit to allow the tines to reach the ideal 2.5-inch depth.
-
Core aeration uses 2-3 inch tines to punch holes and remove soil cores from your lawn. While building codes typically require utility lines and pipes to be buried below aeration depth, rare damages can occur if they are improperly installed:
Gas & Electrical: Minimum depth of 24 inches
Water, Irrigation, Cable, & Phone: Minimum depth of 12 inches
Occasionally, improperly buried irrigation pipes, landscape lighting electrical lines, or internet cables may be damaged during aeration. Since our technicians cannot verify the depth or location of buried utilities, Natural State Horticare cannot assume responsibility for such damages.
Approval of your estimate acknowledges this policy. If damage occurs, please contact our office to schedule a repair.
