General Mowing Advice

1️⃣ Mow at the Correct Height – Refer to the chart below for the ideal mowing height.

2️⃣ Keep Blades Sharp – Dull mower blades tear the grass instead of cutting it, making it vulnerable to fungus and pests. Click here to watch a how-to video on sharpening your mower blades.

3️⃣ Mow Frequently – Every 5–7 days. Mowing less often leads to cutting more than 1/3 of the blade at once, causing stress to the grass and increasing the risk of pests and disease.

4️⃣ Vary Your Mowing Pattern – Change directions each mow to prevent rutting and soil compaction.

5️⃣ Adjust for the Season – Start and end the mowing season at the recommended height for your grass type (see chart below).
